Accessibility statement
This is SEOD’s statement about seod.com, the site you are reading.
Our commitment
SEOD wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control or other assistive technology.
We build accessibility into the work rather than adding it afterwards, and we hold our own site to the standard we ask clients to meet.
Technical benchmark
This website is built to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the World Wide Web Consortium. Referencing these guidelines does not imply any endorsement or affiliation.
Where this site stands today
This site is not certified. It has not completed the SEOD Accessibility Standard review, and we do not claim that it conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. The automated portion is complete. The manual keyboard review, the screen-reader review and the journey testing have not been performed, so no check has been recorded and no credential exists.
What the automated pass covered, across every unique page template and every page in three primary journeys:
- Automated rule checking with axe-core, at every template
- Color contrast measurement, for every text node we can measure from computed styles
- Markup validation, duplicate identifiers and tab order
- Reflow and horizontal overflow from 320 pixels upward, including at 400 percent zoom
Everything it found that blocks certification has been fixed and retested. The record of what was found, what was fixed and what remains is public at our certification record.
Known limitations
An automated pass cannot find everything, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. These are the limits of what has been checked so far:
- No manual keyboard traversal has been performed, so we cannot yet state that every control is operable without a pointer.
- No screen-reader review has been performed. Nothing on this site has been tested with VoiceOver, JAWS or NVDA.
- Text sitting over photographs and video cannot be measured from computed styles. Those pairs are waiting for measurement against the worst-case frame by a person.
- No testing with users with disabilities, no cognitive-load assessment, and no VPAT. Those are separate pieces of work.
Third-party technology
Parts of this website use software provided by other companies, including analytics and font delivery. We do not control how those services are built and they may change without notice. Where we find that a third-party component does not meet our standard, it will be listed here with an accessible alternative way to achieve the same thing.
Content added after review
We publish to this site regularly. We follow accessibility practices when we do, but anything published after a review date was not part of what was reviewed.
